Oscar and Golden Globe nominee, The Great Escape is the classic 1963 John Sturges World War II POW escape thriller based on the book by Paul Brickhill, with a screenplay written by James Clavell & W.R. Burnett. This is an amazing photo of the king of cool (playing Hilts 'The Cooler King'), on a motorcycle with James Garner & James Coburn in a sidecar. Note: Although it looks like the still number had been trimmed off, this is just a result of the scan for this ad...the full # GE-L-5E shows on the pic.
Condition: Fine - Like many stills from this film, this pic has been trimmed to approximately 7.5" x 9.25". There are no snipes, stamps or marks on the reverse (in line with pretty much all stills from this title).

Story Line
The Nazis, exasperated at the number of escapes from their prison camps by a relatively small number of Allied prisoners, relocate them to a high-security 'escape-proof' camp to sit out the remainder of the war. Undaunted, the prisoners plan one of the most ambitious escape attempts of World War II. Based on a true story.
